Many people want to hit the famous beaches of the Gold Coast almost as soon as they arrive, and for good reason. The beaches here are among some of the best and most beautiful anywhere in the world. Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach and Main Beach are all top beach attractions in the area, and are only a few minutes from Ashmore. Each beach has its own atmosphere and characteristics, and it’s not only the sandy areas and sea that attract the crowds but the great shopping and dining too.

You can’t visit the Gold Coast without at least going to one of the famous theme parks there, but if you’ve got the time, try them all. Sea World, Dreamworld and Warner Bros. Movie World are enormous attractions in this part of Australia, and will ensure an amazing day out, one filled with thrills and excellent adventure. All these, and more, including the WhiteWater World water park are within easy reach of Ashmore.

Away from the high-octane attractions and the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary are enormously popular with visitors. The Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens, near to Ashmore, are definitely also worth a visit. Covering 31 hectares, the gardens are an abundance of gorgeous flora, and include Sensory, Rose and Butterfly gardens.

Throughout the year along the Gold Coast there’s a variety of events taking place, from surfing championships drawing competitors from all over the world to literary celebrations, street festivals and so much more.

Visitors are spoiled for choice with their dining options, as there’s something from almost every part of the world. Sample some of the well-known wines, beers and spirits from the area, and as the Gold Coast is such a lively holiday destination by day, you can be sure the nightlife is just as vivacious.
